The Institute has performed the task since 2008, when we collected socio-economic data on Slovenian marine fisheries for 2007.
The data, which is linked to each fishing vessel, enables an assessment
of the socio-economic status in the marine fisheries. The data is a
basis for adopting measures which are in favor of sustainable
development of angling areas and benefit the Slovenian fisheries sector
and Slovenian fishermen.
The main data sources are:
- Information system "InfoRib”;
- Questionnaires; and
- Collection/register of financial data FI-PO AJPES (Agency of the
Republic of Slovenia for Public Legal Records and Related Services).

enables the assessment of the socio-economic situation in the sector.
The data is the basis for adopting measures which are in favor of
sustainable development of fishing areas and benefit Slovene
mariculture.
