Under the Resolution on restructuring the
Institute for Fisheries of Ljubljana into the Fisheries Research Institute of
Slovenia (FRIS) (Official Gazette of the RS 31/2001), the Institute performs
research in the field of freshwater fisheries. These are not public
responsibilities, but responsibilities which the expert department of the Institute performs for the external contracting authorities.
The research covers different areas of the ichthyology:
the taxonomy of fish,
the dynamics of fish populations (establishing
of the density of population, biomass, age structure and growth), and
the ecology of fish (establishing of the
relationship between hydrologic, physical, chemical, and biological properties
of the inland waters and species composition and population parameters of the
fish populations).
The research encompasses different areas of fisheries and ecology:
ichthyological
research, which is expert groundwork for planning the management of fish
populations,
establishing the impact of man's interventions
on the environment of inland waters and the impact of nature on fish populations,
and
regular
monitoring of the status of fish populations.
Monitoring rib v akumulacijah HE Boštanj in HE Blanca 2010

V letu 2010 smo strokovnjaki
Zavoda za ribištvo Slovenije opravili monitoringe ribjih populacij (akumulacija,pritoki, drstišča), (ribja steza) na
območju dveh hidroelektrarn na spodnji Savi in sicer HE Boštanj in HE Blanca.
Naši terenski opremi smo dodali novo ribolovno orodje -
vršo. Sestavljena je iz žičnate kletke, katere prva stranica ima oblikovan
vhod. Izdelana sta dva tipa vhoda: pokončna pravokotna odprtina po celotni
višini vrše in širine 15 cm
ter okrogla odprtina s premerom 20
cm, ki je nameščena 20 cm od spodnjega roba
sprednje stranice.
Dimenzije kletke so 1,5 m x 1,0 m x 1,0 m. Na stranska robova sprednje stranice sta
pritrjena sestavljiva usmerjevalnika, ki usmerjata ribe proti vhodu vrše.
Vrša je bila izdelana posebej z namenom vzorčenja podusti v
času drsti. Njene dimenzije so torej prilagojene spolno zrelim osebkom podusti,
ki v času drsti gorvodno množično potujejo na drstišča. Kletki se po potrebi
doda še ena kletka, kar njen volumen in s tem potencialno število ulovljenih
rib poveča za 100%.
Ker je vrša v celoti
sestavljiva, je možno po potrebi zamenjati sprednjo stranico z vhodom in vršo
uporabiti tudi za vzorčenje večjih ali manjših rib.
Vršo trenutno prvič preizkušamo na kroni drče v Boštanju na reki
Mirni. Namestili smo jo 5.4.2008, ko so prišle prve podusti iz reke Save na
drst v reko Mirno. Pod drčo je ustrezen habitat za drst podusti, eno največjih
drstišč podusti v Sloveniji.
Preveriti želimo, ali podusti prehajajo tudi preko
drče na drstišča v reki Mirni, ki so gorvodno od drče. To bo še posebej
pomembno po zajezitvi akumulacijskega bazena HE Blanca in zaplavitvi
obstoječega drstišča.
Eden od članov Ribiške družine Sevnica dnevno pregleda vršo
in si zapisuje opažanja. Zaenkrat se v vršo ni ujela še nobena riba.

Osnutki načrtov ribiškega upravljanja v ribiških območjih

V skladu z Zakonom o sladkovodnem ribištvu (Uradni list RS, št. 61/2006) in Pravilnikom o načrtovanju in poročanju v ribištvu (Uradni list RS, št. 18/2008) Zavod za ribištvo Slovenije na podlagi mnenja izvajalca ribiškega upravljanja in lokalne skupnosti pripravi osnutke načrtov ribiškega upravljanja v ribiških območjih.
Vodenje ribiškega katastra je ključnega pomena za načrtovanje in izvajanje ribiškega upravljanja ter pripravo različnih strokovnih podlag in mnenj, ukrepov ter predpisov na področju sladkovodnega ribištva, s katerimi se zagotavlja ohranjanje in trajnostna raba ribolovnih virov, določanje elementov ekološkega stanja voda in določanje ukrepov za njihovo izboljšanje.
