Records in
fisheries are managed in the fishing cadastre.
The
Institute manages records about:
- fishing areas, territories, and, districts
- waters of special significance,
- performers of fish management,
- fish farms,
- commercial ponds,
- execution of annual program of fish management,
- extraction
of fish (out of the stream) and their eggs,
- breeding of fish for stocking,
- extraction of fish on the basis of permissions,
- the perishing of fish, and
- successfully
passed exams by fishery experts.

The legal basis for records management is article 51
of the Freshwater Fishing
Act (Official Gazette of the RS, no. 61/2006).
