Fish breeding for stocking is performed
only in fish farms which fulfill the conditions for breeding fish for stocking.
The permit for breeding fish for stocking
can be obtained by persons who have the water rights and:
- confirmed origin of the fish for stocking;
- qualified workers;
- registered breeding at the competent unit of the
Veterinarian administration of the Republic of Slovenia.
The
permit for fish breeding from the previous paragraph is issued by the Minister.
The supervision of fish breeding in fish farms suitable for fish stocking will
be performed by a special commission of the Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry
and Food, in which the Institute will participate as a representative.

The legal grounds for the supervision will be the
regulations on the conditions for breeding fish for stocking, which is in preparation.
